Beliș-Fântânele Lake, located at over 1,000 meters altitude, is one of the most beautiful destinations in the Apuseni Mountains, ideal for those who love nature, tranquility, and spectacular landscapes.

The sunken village scufundat and the church in water:
One of the lake’s most unique attractions is the church from the former village of Giurcuța de Jos, which can be seen only when the water level drops significantly—usually during dry periods. The remains of the old church’s bell tower rise from the depths, creating a spectacular and mysterious sight that has become the lake’s symbol.

Location:
The lake is situated in Cluj County, approximately 40–50 km from Mătișești / Apuseni Air. It is easily accessible by road, with an asphalted route leading to Beliș or close to the lake’s shores.
